Here's how you can control your thermostat during the day and some other things you can do using a Radio Shack digital timer. The basic principle of the timer is that you plug the timer to the wall and program it to turn on and off at a particular time. Anything you plug to the timer will be on or off at the same times (make sure that whatever you plug is turned on).
- Daytime Thermofooler:Plug the same light-activated night light to the timer and set the timer to turn on when you leave and turn off before you come home. No need to close your curtains, just cover the hole that receives light in the night-light. That will cut off light to the night-light.
- Alarm clock:Plug a radio to the timer and set the timer to turn on at the time you want to wake up. You can simulate a snooze button by programming several on and off settings in the timer, but I believe the shortest time interval in these timers is a minute.
- Tape your favorite radio shows: Plug a tape recorder to the timer and set the timer to turn on when your favorite radio show comes on. Turn the radio on and set it next to the player, tuned on to the station that broadcasts that favorite radio show. The tape recorder will start recording your radio show.
