Fimo works well, too

I've had to make impressions of screw heads as well. I use Fimo or Sculpey polymer "clay" - impress the screw head, and then bake the impression. Then coat the impression with Pam spray, and repeat. It gives a permanent reference, in case you have to re-do it...
