- tea popper spring force

Hi Johnathan -- I'm finally picking this project up again after a year of its sitting in the corner. I've got a question for you, one that a couple people have posed to me when I mentioned this project, and I don't have a good answer: Won't the spring-force, designed to eject slices of toast, be a bit much for a teabag? Won't it splatter hot tea everywhere when it pops up?Posted by MissionControl on April 09, 2007 at 09:18:12 Pacific Time

Hi! I just started on the tea popper project, which will be my first real electronics project (by real, I mean aside from the BASIC Stamp kit).
I've acquired an appropriate toaster and removed much of the extraneous stuff. Here are photos of the toaster in its current state of disassembly. I'm still trying to figure out which of the remaining parts are extraneous and how I'll hook up the 9V battery.Posted by MissionControl on April 06, 2006 at 12:38:21 Pacific Time

Hey MissionControl! Looks great so far -- from the pictures I can tell that your toaster is different than mine and yet the electromagnet, the darkness dial, the switches, they're all there. Hope it works out well for you, and congratulations on diving in.Posted by Johnath on April 06, 2006 at 15:46:02 Pacific Time
