I built Heathkit ham gear when I was little (got my ham ticket at 7), then off to college and computers and wasn't much into radio until about two years ago. Inexpensive and tiny mass-market VHF gear ("it takes the infrastructure of a nation", an EE told me) brought me back, but then I found the new HF digital modes, and then morse code again, and now, I have found Elecraft, which has the reincarnarnated soul of Heathkit, with easy kits, small kits, and top-performing gear.Posted by LeighKlotz on October 28, 2005 at 20:11:17 Pacific Time
