Hi folks,
please note that the dimensions in this article are imperial unit approximations of metric values. For example, the stud pitch is actually 8mm, so approximating it as 5/16" (7.935mm) will give you an ever increasing error if you multiply out to 10x or 14x. All dimensions of Lego pieces are metric since it's a non-US company ;)
