I loved this article. Read it over and over. Then I ordered a keyboard on Ebay and started looking for my old Palm III. One question though. The author mentions that he would use bluetooth if he had to do it over again. I have done a lot of searching over the past couple of days, but cannot find anyone who has put bluetooth into a Palm III, but it certainly seems that it shouuld be possible to connect the serial transmission lines of the connector to a bluetooth dongle, and power it from the main board when turned on.
I found a bluetooth serial end plug for using old serial devices via bluetooth, but they are very expensive and it doesn't seem too elegant a solution. My area of making is primarily gunsmithing with the occasional batch of homebrew thrown in. Anyone out there have input on how to hack a bluetooth adapter into this little beauty that someone with pretty rudementary electronic knowledge could perform? I'd love to hear about it.Posted by Dacotti on August 21, 2006 at 15:56:01 Pacific Time

Great job. Substitute a Palm T|X and you have in my opinion the perfect mobile device.
That book wouldn't happen to be "HTML publishing on the Internet" by Kenny Chu, Francis Chin would it?Posted by j_knight on August 17, 2006 at 09:57:40 Pacific Time
