So, they'll be able to communicate with each other via infrared (or whatever). Will they be able to discuss their treatment and plan to overthrow the abusive owner? Will "toys" be the first linked nueral network? Will all "things" able to communicate be able to form a vast, omnipresent entity?
What will become of us - led to our own demise as a species by our playthings!!!

Try to google up info on a "tactile network" devised in Japan, whereupon devices on your person communicate through your dermis when you touch someone else similarly outfitted. Great possibilites (a little scary, also - transmit viruses to your devices through human contact!!)
