  Love this article. I recently bought an old hunk of junk multi-band radio on eBay just so I could listen to air traffic control at work since I am right next to an airport. I wish I would have seen this article a few months ago. I am still going to try it out on a cheap radio.

  I remember as a kid doing this to a walkie talkie, and being near the air force base...i think I really Un-nerved some AIRMEN with my purile squeaky voice.
  
  now if there was a way to do this with your cellphone that has FM radio. but you probably cant cause it doesnt have AM reception.
