- Russian Roulette alternate solution?

Can anyone spot a fault in the following?
I have thought of an alternate solution for the Russian roulette puzzle-Spin the Barrel, but do not pull the trigger-The king did not say that if she spun the barrel she had to pull the trigger-a loophole in the "rules".Posted by dj8002 on September 28, 2008 at 10:04:09 Pacific Time

dj8002's solution is based on the fact that the king must say that she has to pull the trigger. The queen has already agreed to the rules of Russian Roulette, one of which is that all player MUST pull the trigger.Posted by capcom1116 on October 12, 2008 at 22:45:36 Pacific Time

Suppose the evil king did not allow the queen's sage to observe the positioning of the bullets, or perhaps the sage simply didn't notice. The king triggers first and survives. The sage would now have to ponder the fact that the placement of the two bullets may or may not be sequential. He calculates that if they are loaded sequentially, then the queen has the best chance of surviving (75%) by simply pulling the trigger without re-spinning (as set forth in the original puzzle). But what if the two bullets happen not to have been loaded sequentially? Would this eventuality change the odds? What advise should he offer his Queen now?Posted by captken1974 on November 17, 2008 at 21:46:23 Pacific Time
