  Instead of using a clothespin and the recording module to surprise someone who walks in on the trap, go out to Hallmark, buy a talking card and cannibalize the sound piece. There are so many sound cards that you are almost guaranteed to find a really loud one to freak someone out.
  I made one to attach to my door when my brothers friends sleep over, so they don't mess with me while I am sleeping. I carefully unstuck it from the card, taped it to my door, and found something to separate the tabs, so when my door was opened it would scream bloody murder. It worked beautifully.

  That's a great idea--if you don't care that you can't record your own voice or sound. The current Hallmark sound cards are prerecorded with short samples of famous songs (e.g. a birthday card that plays "Bad To The Bone"). Years ago Hallmark *did* sell cards that you could record with your own voice or sound. Maybe you could find one of those on eBay--good luck!
