- Rainwater Toilet success

After seeing the article on the Rainwater toilet I built one. I used a 90 gallon D shaped tank that fits close to the wall. The toilet is down stairs, I have maybe 3 PSI. The Flowmaster M 400 works with 15 PSI, I purchased a valve seat from them once they answered the phone, they sent some for free that work on gravity feed systems. It works great 9 months of the year near Seattle. I have two down spouts feeding it. I little chorine bleach once a month helps with alge growth.Posted by pyrotek on July 25, 2011 at 18:23:09 Pacific Time

I have to say, I'm disappointed in the article. It doesn't have enough technical information -like the PSI required to make this work. I've tried doing the same, and had to raise my barrels significantly to get reasonable PSI, and it still doesn't work! Furthermore, I even switched toilets: the old (non-low flo) worked adequately, but the high gallon required sapped the barrels dry quickly. The new lo-flo toilet has the opposite: doesn't sap the water, but doesn't work either! Any follow-ups?Posted by ChrisLa on December 15, 2011 at 16:10:21 Pacific Time
