    As a passionate non-professional photographer, I would like to point out that the device shown is what is called a “copy stand” which is designed to photograph flat works such as paintings, drawings, other photographs, etc. The lights are placed in a fixed position to remove any reflection from the artwork into the camera lens. So, to make a quick copy, fire up the lights, affix your camera, and shoot away with consistent results.

    For more flexible tabletop photography, a tripod and movable lights are a requirement..
