Make your own apps on the iRiver U10?

U10
Misticriver.net has the specs of the new iRiver u10- it’s a little video/music player but a couple things caught my eye. It plays OGG and it also can play TXT (text files) as well as support Flash Lite 1.1. This is a bit of a big deal. Anyone can not only throw ebooks on this little fellow but, with Flash Lite 1.1 you could potentially develop a lot of games, applications and interactive learning content. Anyway, glad to see there’s an easy way to make applications for a portable media player finally coming out. Link.

Flashlite support on this is actually HUGE!

I’ll be picking one up as a development box since I can’t get a phone that supports Flashlite in the States.

I’ve never got why they haven’t built a text to speech enabled text/html/rss feed/whatever file reader for mp3 players, i mean wouldn’t that be a better option then trying to read off a mini screen? just use the screen for a good UI so you would know what page, or whatever is being read to you. I mean considering my old 386/16 could pull it off how could today’s mp3 players not have the pony power to do so?
