Just a personal note, I tried using gEDA’s “PCB” pcb design program, and had a lot of trouble with it, the learning curve is pretty steep. I had a much easier time using the freeware (limited to 2 layers, and 100×800 MM boards) version of Eagle. Just a personal preference thing I guess.
