Dan laser etched a chocolate bar Link. Once I get some time, I’m going to etch words, drawings and all sorts of fun on edible sushi-like paper wraps. Reading and eating can be fun.

I recall, about eight years ago, reading about a patent for molding chocolates with a holographic image on its surface. I think it was a kind of reflective type hologram, like the ones on a credit card.

The inventor gave an example to use this process for making holographic chocolates for upscale hotels to put on pillows, etc.

I guess it was a kind of diffraction grating effect built into the surface of chocolates. The chocolate itself may have needed more culinary wax on its outer layer to support it.
