Borders to sell Sony digital reading device

GizMag is reporting that Sony will be selling their new e-ink based ebook reader at Borders – “The electronic book has been on the horizon for such a long time that the announcement of its launch by Sony was not given the media fanfare such a significant development deserved. Dedicated readers will be pleased to know that the Sony Reader will be readily available though, as Sony will be making the innovative reading device for e-books and text documents available through Borders stores.”Link.

Related note: If someone from Sony or Borders is a MAKE fan, drop me an email, we converted MAKE to the Sony librie format and I think we’d be willing to try out putting MAKE on the Sony reader – regardless, we’ll likely do a DRM-free version on our own when the reader ships too. Please Sony, we really need this device to work out, if this one flops like the Librie did we’ll have to wait years (again) before e-ink devices get a shot… we’ll help, seriously.

If you work for MAKE, you might want to mention that.
