A little follow up to the light bulb project we posted, MAKE commenter Terc made a small fish bowl for a beta fish out of a g40 lightbulb. The fish (named Edison) seems to like it – Link.

    I would suggest using a cheap IC socket for the microcontroller, so that it can be removed for reprogramming — instead of soldering the chip directly on the PCB.

    My son and I made this kit during the workshop at the Maker Faire. It is straighforward to build,although many of the leads are fairly close, so the soldering can’t be too sloppy. For a beginner’s kit it is great fun.
