    Here’s a more modern interpretation.

A guy I work with has two bikes outfitted with these systems. They put out ~2.5 hp and he gets ~200 mpg with a top speed in the low 20’s.

    I ride one of these:

It gets (supposedly) 150mpg, and I’ve had it up to 25mph with room to spare at the top end. Specs say 35mph, but I am probably over the height and weight limit for that kind of speed. Paid $230 on ebay. They used to cost less, but the US govt has put a clamp on imported 2-stroke engines. Another place to get them is spooky tooth cycles, just google it. Simpson Motor Bikes as well.

Haven’t owned it long enough to really guage the mpg. And it vibrates a lot at 25mph, so I don’t know how fast it can really go. Had a CDI failure within 2 months, replaced it for $34, works fine now.
