   I’ve worked in preschool for many years now and I always boil my water first. Mix your dry ingredients together then pour the boiling water over it. Add the oil once you get it started combining. The boiling water binds the flour better for a smoother dough. And you don’t end up with a nasty pan with caked on dough to clean up later. Also, if you can get ahold of liwuid watercolors your dough color will be more vibrant than using food coloring which has a nasty tendency to stain.
