I’ve been making these for years. An easy way to get the paper cut into strips:
Take an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper, fold it in half, and run it through an old shredder that doesn’t do cross-cuts. Then you’re ready to go… it’s folded for you and everything. You do end up with pretty small stars, though. It’s easier to learn on bigger paper.
