Awesome! A great way to travel for as cheap as possible! I gotta make one of these.

That is sweet. Would you have to feed a meter? And don’t forget a ground pad for the oily spots!
To avoid too much scrutiny during pitching, it would be convenient if one of these could be made that unfold and automatically spring into shape (like some tents I’ve seen that you toss in the air and they land open and ready to go) plus it’d also be a great way to reserve your favorite parking spot! ;)

If you’re occupying a parking space during metered hours you would from what I understand need to pay the price of the space. But that aside this seems a bit dangerous , I’d at least suggest some of that 3M reflective tape all around. You’re going to have no legal defense if someone damages either you or the tent with their car. You shouldn’t really be camping on the road.

I was once camping in a designated camping area in a wooded camp ground and almost got run over. I can’t even imagine this.

I’m not so sure I would want to “camp” in a street. No matter how light and slow traffic may be. Give me a comfortable chair under a shade tree any old day. To each their own…

That’s well constructed and a nifty idea but I think you are asking for trouble. Imagine a drunk person trying to sit on the car and crashing through on top of you. Or worse vomiting or urinating next to or on the “car” I am currently living in my car in New York City. In a real car you are in a secure locked metal box that blends in totally with it’s surroundings.
I have thought of designing a camouflaged platform tent that could be suspended in a tree in a city park. It could roll up and fit into a backpack.
My rule of thumb is “Out of sight out of mind” Check out my website below for more info on my Urban Camper. David

From the post of “Tent camping for the city dweller”, I think that the gazebos could be a fantastic equipment for our daily life, of course, you could choose <a href="http://www.quictents.co.uk/marquee or marquee for sale tent as your equipment. and i love this kind of car shaped pop up gazebo tent very much.

To be frank, this is really a good room for getting a piece of silence!, while it will be cold in winter, so the wood stove is very necessary i think.
