    Austin,??
    It might be a good idea to include the state.
    I didn’t see it listed anywhere.

    @N0QBH – austin, tx (texas)

    I just moved to Austin in December, and I’m so glad I did! I wasn’t able to go to the original Faire, so I’m so excited it will be here.

    Thanks for making this possible… I’m excited!

  4. supertim says:

    I’m so excited that we who can’t fly to San Mateo can now participate in the Fair(e). But no student discount for students over 21? What about graduate students, the poorest of them all?

  5. ash_liz says:

    Why does it cost so much to attend the Maker Faire? Do ticket purchases support a charity or something? Are they tax deductible? I was really interested in seeing this–what a great educational opportunity! Then I saw the price to attend and I thought, “huh??” :(

  6. philliptorrone says:

    less than $25 for a two day event is very reasonable. are you a student? it’s even less… ($10).

  7. ash_liz says:

    Not a student. It appears that the general admission price for me for 1 day is $25. If I am reading this incorrectly, please help me find the right information. I was expecting to pay something like the cost of a movie ticket to go see this. That would be reasonable. It doesn’t sound like there are any paid performers in this show…! Is there a meal included? I am still baffled.

  8. philliptorrone says:

    @ash_liz – for adults it’s $20 for a day pass (you need to order it online). for kids and students it’s $15 or $10…

    there are performances, workshops, etc etc. food is not included.

  9. CCarlson says:

    My tickets just showed up in the mail—I’m pretty stoked about this.

    (Oh, and to make it even better, the tickets are numbered 0000 and 0001. Excellent!)
