Make editor and publish Dale Dougherty lent a hand to GOOD Magazine for their recent High tech/Low tech issue. He came up with the idea for their Project page, a bimonthly experiment in open source creativity. The assignment? Document a craft or trade in danger of extinction. I saw that issue and thought that the article was pretty lame. Sorry, but a picture of how I organize my workshop simple lacked imagination and compelling content.
There was another article about some inventions from MIT that I thought was magazine quality material.
I’d really like to see more about low tech adaption in impoverished countries and challenges to solve problems. Let the makers do some good. Makezine should pick winners and offer to help the maker patent the idea, give a plaque with the patent on it, then donate the patents to a institution that will use it for Good.
Its a win win. Tell us the challenge and let us come up with innovative ideas.
