Altered Messenger Bag

Craft & Design

When you’re a Craftzine blogger, you run across handmade inspiration when you least expect it. This morning I got my hair cut and colored, and my stylist Gina happened to pull out this sweet messenger bag she’d altered. I fell in love instantly, of course! Turns out it had an ugly graphic on the front, so she took a piece of vintage tablecloth and affixed it to the front flap with embroidery floss, then topped the whole thing off with a coordinating cherry applique. Much better! Link.

I did something similar with one of my favourite lunch bag too. You can see it here

This is brilliant, I’m always looking at the linens at the antique store (they’re one of the few things I can afford), wondering what can be done with them. Now I know…I can cover up ugly logos!
