TV game controller circuits explained

This site gives you detailed circuit diagrams for TV game controllers ranging from the Atari 2600 (circuit diagram above) to the Sony Playstation. Very useful if you want to repurpose one controller to use on a different system or if you just like taking things apart MAKE style.

Maybe I should mention my own page of video game controllers and joypads:

    http://www.gifford.co.uk/~coredump/gpad.htm

Nowhere near the technical detail of the page above, but a semi-chronological view of the development of the modern game pad, from the basic Binatone pot-in-a-box to the Xbox 360.

Thought I’d let you guys know that of the few pinouts I checked on that page, about half were wrong in some way. A better place to look for this sort of thing would be http://www.gamesx.com, which also includes pinouts for various video and other connectors for various video game systems.
