I haven’t order anything from this site (Anykits) but they do seem to have a lot of good stuff including a PDF “magazine” with open source designs. Any makers out there familiar with these folks? – Link.

That place is based in India, and shipping to the US is insanely expensive (“courier service” is the only option they list for the US).

That said, they have some really cool looking kits. It’s really a shame there isn’t a better way to get them in the US.

  3. Stokes says:

Some of these kits seem ridiculously cheap… do they come with all the necessary parts?

  4. Andy says:

    Yeah…$25 to order a 230gram $15 kit. Not a chance in hell.

What a bummer…their relay board looked very cool.

  5. Brian says:

How about the makers store here make a deal to sell their wares. We would like that!

  6. Beaner says:

They would have to be selling just PDF’s of the kit details for that price. And in the magazine, the picture of the AC Light Controller does not match the circuit diagram. Seems a bit fishy to me.

  7. fstedie says:

I hope the kits are better than their spelling … “Novambar 2007″2

Just to clarify things a bit, after playing around with the shopping cart a bit, it’s clear that the $25 is a flat rate thing. You can buy like $50 worth of stuff, and it’s still $25 for shipping. The bonus is that if you buy a lot of stuff there (and it seems to depend both on the total price and the type of items you buy), shipping is free.

I have been having the same problem from years ordering stuff from the US (I live in Australia) Try to justify shipping when it starts at $45 for 2-3 ETA shipping…. Thats what the rest of the world is usually stuck with trying to order things from the US, starting to get better as the US$ Drops but still.

  11. Shadyman says:

The $25 shipping kinda hurts. Maybe SparkFun Electronics could pick up on some of their kits?

Very strange, it looks like they don’t ship to countries higher then an I in the alphabet except for the USA.

Yeh, shipping cost for single item is a bit awkward but if you do order several kits, it does work out quite cost-effective. I had no problems ordering to Denmark and the service is quite prompt through Fedex. Even orders placed on big suppliers like RS or Farnell in the EU cost about the same to ship. The kits are well packaged and documented. For these kind prices i don’t even mind ordering a few extra ones…

I ordered some servo controllers. They have excellent service and process orders quite prompt. Now i notice they also have a much cheaper shipping option by Air Mail !
Did you guys see the amazing variety of options ? it makes it such a breeze compared to ordering individual parts and pcb’s.

The new shipping out there is just to cut down the Shipping cost. Check it out.

Shipping in these parts of the world is all on weight.
I presume shipping to the US and other parts is via E-Post, which one can even track.

Anykits web sites have been blocked for some time due to malware on the site. Has anyone been able to order anything from them lately or are they out of business? I’m interested in their LMD18200 adapter board.
