Bloxes can turn any space in to the set of Decker’s apartment, very cool –

What are Bloxes? Bloxes are building blocks made of interlocking pieces of corrugated cardboard, folded together. Their unique shape and structure make them exceptionally strong and lightweight — you could build yourself a platform to stand on, and then pick it up and move it wherever you need to.

What can you do with them? Bloxes can connect with each other on all six sides, so you can use them to build walls, benches, tables, tunnels — whatever you can think of. And because the varied surface and complex internal structure helps dampen sound, they’re great for managing acoustics in offices, studios and other places.

Can I make a little fort?

these are semi-interesting. why is it, when someone creates something semi-interesting, they charge way, WAY too damn much for the thing. $3 per block? go away.

I agree, cool concept. Unfortunately I’m sure the price is due to the problem of small quantities – when they’re manufacturing these Bloxes in low quantities they’re expensive per Blox because of it.

I’d love to see the idea picked up by IKEA and mass-produced for way cheaper. You could also have other special-function Bloxes that are, say, lamps, or little storage nooks.

I looked around the site, but no word on if they are made of recycled material :(
At those prices, I’d worry too much about possible damage from fire or liquid.

Perhaps recycled corrugated plastic may be better for the environment, and hold up to liquids better.

I would like to see a template so we can make our own from old boxes, pizza boxes, card stock, etc.
Perhaps someone could make a vector file or PDF of one?

Pretty cool, but I’d have questions about fire safety. Get a hot lamp or a candle too close tho these things and “WHOOSH!”

    Cool stuff!

I might be able to put something together from the pics shown. Maybe a scale “diagram” in autocad that can be printed out and made. I will have to see!!

Reverse engineering as we speak. $3 a blox is a bit much, esp for what is essentially a piece of cardboard.

    Done.

The tabs were rendered as triangles because I didn’t want to spend the time to draw them. Same with the hub slots. Green lines are fold lines.
