Here’s an Instructable that shows you how to modify a disposable camera to turn it into a high-intensity strobe light warning flasher.

Hack a flash camera into a emergency strobe light

  1. askvictor says:

Do the mod as described, then rip the flash unit out and place it behind the lens (where the film would normally go). Place a small image (a cutout, or something on developed film) between the flash unit and the lens. Start the thing flashing – it will be in a continuous look projecting your image onto whatever you want. Like the Image Fulgurator <http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.juliusvonbismarck.com%2Ffulgurator%2Fidee.html&sl=de&tl=en&hl=en&ie=UTF-8> but not flash triggered.

Uh…try that askvictor. I don’t think it will work with the lens on the camera.

We’ve seen some decent projection systems on here, like that solar charging one recently. And they have more complex lenses.
