Modded knee brace

Spotted in the MAKE Flickr pool:

Instructables user Senseless has modified his wife’s knee brace to prevent lateral movement due to rheumatoid arthritis. He says it’s easier for her to get on than her normal brace, which aids in late-night bathroom trips. If you can endure the run-on sentences, he’s made an instructable detailing its construction. I’ve had knee problems since I was a kid, so if anybody’s got plans for a brace that prevents patellar subluxation, detail it in the comments!

If you read the instructable, you’ll find that it’s the husband modeling the brace. He wanted to test it before having his wife try it. Also, there’s nothing wrong with women who don’t shave their legs. Ahem.

I figure you could screw that sucker straight into the leg and do away with the brace altogether.

I can tell you from personal experience, having metally bits screwed into your leg for long periods of time doesn’t work as well as one might initially think. :P
