cd dumbbells

Michelle @ CRAFT writes:

Amy wrote in about Danny Seo’s project where he turned old cds into dumbbells. No tools are required and with just 150 CDs, a threaded rod and bolts you can make a 10 pound weight.

I think buying a 10 pound dumbell would be cheaper. Or one could fill empty soda bottles with sand.

Buy? There is no buy here my friend. There is only to make, or make not.

Finally a use for AOL cds!

Um, I guess 10 pounds is not too much weight, but you’re gunna want pretty tough hands to use this dumbell, given the threaded rod handles. My office-worker-soft hands would be pretty sore at the end of the workout. Maybe some tape or foam around the handles?

Anyone got any Laserdiscs hanging around?
