Don’t gas powered mulchers handle branches and not just twigs?

Maybe some gearing would help?
How about using some gearing to pedal a big concrete flywheel up to speed. Now you’ve got some serious stored energy. Get off and mulch bigger branches until the flywheel slows down. Repeat.
