Montreal-based artist Michel de Broin’s “Dead Star” is a sculpture made from residual batteries at the end of their lifespan. The piece is currently on display at Eyebeam Center for Art and Technology in NYC as part of the “Untethered” show which opened on Thursday and runs until October 25th.

Couldn’t be from the batteries. It doesn’t look like they’re connected.

Having said that, it looks really cool.

yeah, ok… nice form, but really… we did this in design fundamental 101. like gluing several hundred styrofoam cups.

now, if they had wired them up in series to light a single shimmering LED that slowly faded into nothing signifying our hopeless, dimming life force THEN we’re talking about art!

Awesome post! I’m an intern at Eyebeam, I worked on the mobile device piece there. Check it out!
