It’s no secret that Austin is a hotbed of crafty talent. Some of the biggest names in crafting hail from right here in central Texas. Visitors to Maker Faire Austin this weekend will have the opportunity to learn from a few of these fine ladies over in the Maker Shed.
Jenny Hart, artist, embroidery maven and founder of Sublime Stitching will be in the Maker Shed, giving folks the low down on embroidery basics. This is one thing I love about Maker Faire: you get “celebrity” crafters working with small groups of people to share a craft and skill that they love. That’s a rare and special experience – grab it while you can!
Also in the Maker Shed, Jennifer Perkins of Naughty Secretary Club, will be doing demos on making fabric jewelry and on jewelry making 101. She’s hosted popular craft tv shows like Craft Lab and Stylelicious, and now you can come watch her work her magic right in front of your eyes! She’ll also be signing copies of her popular new book, The Naughty Secretary Club: The Working Girl’s Guide To Handmade Jewelry, in the Maker Shed after each of her demos.
