Radio Shack catalogs from 1939 to present via BBG.

This website is dedicated to America’s technology store… RadioShack. For almost 65 years RadioShack has produced a catalog to rival no other electronics and technology company. Through the years, this catalog expanded to contain a mix of hi-fidelity stereos, amplifiers, radios, phonographs, speakers, televisions & antennas, CBs & communication equipment, computers, electronic components, electronic testing equipment, educational kits, toys, gadgets, batteries, electronic circuitry, and much more. Products from the RadioShack catalog were purchased by the everyday consumer, hobbyist, and professional. At this website you will be able to view these old RadioShack catalogs…year by year…page by page.

OMG! I remember many of those back to the 70s. I paged through the real 1977 catalog a thousand times. Paging through again, I remember most every page.

Wow. Back when the shack could answer questions other than “cell phone plans” and the shack carried these things called “electronic parts”. :-P

Radio Shack’s “You’ve got questions, we’ve got answers” slogan has become “You’ve got questions, we’ve got cellphones.” Depressing.

  3. Bond says:

“You’ve got questions, we’ve got answers”
became “You’ve got questions, we’ve got no idea”

The new slogan is “Don’t just buy stuff, Do stuff.”

So I went in and explained I wanted to buy stuff (stacked pot with 10k log and 10k reverse log) so I can do stuff (build cool electronic project) The only thing I got was a puzzled look.

I guess it’s become “Just buy stuff.”

I always think of RS whenever I need audio cables or jacks or splitters. Much to my surprise my last visit left me feeling betrayed… Want a $7 RCA stereo cable? Nope… you have to buy the $35 gold plated one now. I will say this though, the salesman sympathized with me. (To be fair, perhaps it was just my local store who was not carrying the cheaper cables).

WOW!!! http://www.RadioShackCatalogs.com is an AWESOME site!

It’s an archive of old 1939-2005 Radio Shack catalogs. Flip through every page of every catalog. There’s also a LOT of other cool stuff (old Radio Shack commercial videos, store photos, historical photos, etc.).

As the site states, it can be used for:
    – product information
    – a reference guide
    – an electronic parts & products resource
    – viewing the progression of technology
    – research
    – reminiscing
    – fun reading!

It’s a “Bookmark” site for sure.
