HOW TO – Recycled Bottle Cap Trivet

I really like this idea for a recycled bottle cap trivet–the bottle caps are enclosed and connected with crochet. I’d imagine the metal can help keep your drink warm while it sits, and I like the colorful look.

I think the metal would actually cause a hot drink to cool off faster, unless the table under the trivet has a heating element in it!

My mother had severl of these bottle cap hot pads. I just always thought they were for just putting hot pans on and such. I dont know where my mother got heres but they were bigger than this one in the picture So I guess my mothers were for hot pans. Hers the color was all the same and smaller thread was used. I thought they were pretty neat. When I was little I used to just play with them and feel them.

Thank you so much for posting this! I have been looking around for a pattern like this for a long time. A woman I used to know had some of those and I have always wanted to make my own. Thanks again!
