I love this great post over on Treehugger about recycling pantyhose or tights! Alas, they don’t have any photos or instructions (they’re treehuggers, not crafters!), but it’s a great roster of ideas. It may not be as good as mending, but sometimes those beloved tights have just a few too many ladders to make wearing practical, and there’s no need for them to go in the trash bin!

Not necessarily tights, but when I was a kid at girl scout camp, they always kept bars of soap in the foot of a pair of hose, tied around the pipe to the sink. Never slipped off into the woods, and you could use it all the way down past the slivers!
the best use i’ve found for old hose is getting the bugs off the front of your car. my uncle does a lot of car detailing, and he swears by pantyhose, it’s abrasive enough to remove the bugs but won’t hurt the finish of your car.
I once bought a braided rug made out of pantyhose and support hose at an estate sale. The same woman had made rugs out of wonder bread bags. Amazing.
