Narwhalbot built a couple of monster VU meters for use at live shows, wall-mounting them at home between gigs – awesome, awesome.

Born, drew a lot, made video, made music on 4-track, then computer, more songwriting, met future wife, went to art school for video major, made websites, toured in a band, worked as web media tech, discovered electronics, taught myself electronics, blogged about DIY electronics, made web videos about electronics and made music for them … and I still do!

    Mike Carnes and Andy Turley were my partners of this project, and without them it never would have happened.

    The panels have 3 modes: a straight VU mode, a Night-Rider-esque mode, and a tap-tempo-controlled chase mode.

    Here’s a vid of one of them in action, being tested at a Microfiche show:
