From Photobucket user 8jarjar8, this video of a Chinese-lion-dragon style AT-AT costume with lighted cheek-lasers. Don’t really know anything about the makers/wearers. Anybody with info, please feel free to comment. [via Geekologie]

I wore this out to First Avenue in minneapolis this Halloween. The entire costume was made of foamcore. It’s a rigid board made for the mounting of posters. Anyway, it was pretty lightweight and easy to wear. The inside of the head featured the correct vintage AT-AT drivers and commander figures and I put a couple rinky dink LED lights that blinked as lasers on the head. My brother and I were inside walking on reinforced buckets. (Which later broke.)

Overall it took me a month to build and cost about $150 in materials. I did win the First Ave costume contest so it paid for itself.

I got attacked by a douchebag who tied rope around the legs while inside the club. I had to use a ton of duct tape to put it back together in time for the costume contest onstage. The douchebag got punched in the face and thrown out.

    Thanks for the props!

      Damn that Luke Skywalker!

Great story! Costumes like this always need a “keeper” to help out and keep the douchebags away.
