From the new archive search front page at PopSci.com:

We’ve partnered with Google to offer our entire 137-year archive for free browsing. Each issue appears just as it did at its original time of publication, complete with period advertisements. It’s an amazing resource that beautifully encapsulates our ongoing fascination with the future, and science and technology’s incredible potential to improve our lives. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

  1. James Grahame says:

Popular Science failed to renew the copyright of their back issues up until 1964, so 92 years of Pop Sci has fallen into the public domain. Nothing prevents anyone from republishing or repurposing the content from those years.

  2. Steve Buchholz says:

  3. Spikenzie says:

For example, I was just reading the March 1953 issue, it has great articles like, how to use a chain saw (with lots of safety tips … who said they weren’t safe in the 50′), living on Mars and in the new invention section they mention a new breaking system for trucks that sounds like todays ABS.
