Instructables user zieak upcycled some discarded keyboard circuit sheets into this attractively geeky document folder for his wife.

…that wins. And you can make the keys themselves into fridge magnets. Now we just need something to do with the case and the cord….

I love that keyboard membrane material. I cracked open a bunch o’ ‘boards when I was editing the Instructables book and the keyboard wallet project article. I love that there are so many different designs and colors. I covered a Maker’s Notebook with some that looks exactly like the membrane in this photo. Looks nice with the “maker blue” coming through. I even used the ribbon cable part of the membrane to create a closure for the book. We had it on display at Maker Faire Austin. Don’t know what happened to it.

The membrane is really cool isn’t it? I love how durable, thin, and forgiving of taping mistakes it is.

(The wallet project was mine and i also had to open a bunch of keyboards… This project was able to use up some of those – since the wallet has turned out to be so durable!)

I loved mine, until somebody stole it at Maker Faire! I had it in the Best of Instructables display area in the Shed and somebody absconded with it on the last day. Gotta make another one.

Thanks for contributing to the book, BTW, Zieak. That was such a fun project to work on and the Instructables community was so great to work with.
