Maker Faire video album: Bay Area 2009

Here’s another great video from Maker Faire, this time from Maker Faire Bay Area 2009. We’ll have lots of new and exciting things this year, and May 22nd and 23rd are so close, I can already feel good vibes from San Mateo.

When I see things like this I think…..total waste of natural resources….huge carbon footprint….all for the sake of a show?

    Nothing green here.

While there is certainly a carbon foot print to events like this, the inspiration and connections made are well worth it. There are many very green projects highlighted at the fair. For instance, the first time I saw an algae biofuel converter was at Maker Faire, and I continue to admire the bicycle powered stage. Exposing kids, families and entrepreneurs to so many alternative ideas is very powerful. That, to me, is sufficient to tip the balance in the positive.
