Did mousetrap ever work?

Craft & Design

Apparently, no one in comedy group The Station was able to get the game working when they were kids. Did you have any success? I don’t think I’ve ever actually played the game, but can attest to having seen a working life-sized version at Maker Faire:

In true parody form, they also have a making-of video. [via neatorama]

Mousetrap (the board game) worked great! You just had to put the contraption together.

    It was super nerdy fun.

    Wish I still had mine.

I used to play with mine, remember it well. The best part was when the cage rattled down the post.

It worked all the time. In fact, I’m pretty sure any kid with a couple minutes on their hands could get it to work with minimal problems. Chalk another outstanding gold star up for elements of our popular “culture”. Are we sure that “The Station” would be able to find their way out of a wet paper bag?

Nope, we have no idea, but they can certainly make catchy videos!

Maybe production quality has gone down over the years, but the game units produced when I was a kid worked fine. I hope this video will get plenty of response videos to let us know if that’s the case.

I have always loved ‘Rube Goldberg’ machines, and played mousetrap often. I had pieces from a couple games, and mocked up all sorts of stuff. My folks had a home office, and had to lock up the tape. :)

    And how did:

Miss the related links?!? I watched that video a couple dozen times. Still find details..

I never played with Mouse Trap but I had a similar game called Crazy Clock and it worked every time! Someone should build a life sized version of this one…
