Found in the MAKE Flickr Pool: This brilliant, mysterious Daft Punk costume, ostentatiously Tronlike. I’m afraid I can’t describe provide any more details. Does anyone know who created this costume and how?

Hi, I made this Daft Punk costume for a fancy dress party i recently went to. The lighting design was based on what Janet Hansen did with the Daft Punk costumes for the Alive tour, i had wanted to make one ever since seeing them. I didn’t take many photos of the build as it was made from a combination of other designs i had seen on the net, and images of the light work done by Janet from the Enlightened Design site. I used about 30m of EL wire for the whole thing, & a LCD belt buckle for in the visor. The most original part of the costume was the helmet (i have just uploaded some photos to flickr) i made this from combining an Iron Man face mask with a bike helmet, the ear pieces were plastic i turned up on the lathe. the visor was the hardest part, after a few failed attempts of bending acrylic i settled on cardboard for the visor peaks and used tinted plastic for the visor. To get the brightly illuminated writing on the back instead of trying to solder 300 odd Leds, i punched out the design and attached diffuser material to the back (baking paper) then glued LED strip lights to some fabric that i attached behind the diffuser to back-light the whole thing. Batteries, switches and EL inverters were kept in the jacket pockets. I had a great time in the costume, and making it. I will try and add some more photos of the individual pieces if anyone is interested. thanks for the post MAKE!
