So you want to get mobile with your Arduino, or other micro controller, and you aren’t sure where to start? The Maker Shed has 2 different platforms to get you started. Choose either the 2WD or 4WD kit depending on your needs. Both platforms include geared motors, wheels, and a high-strength aluminum alloy body. Keep in mind, you still need a power supply and motor driver, but these kits get you miles ahead of starting from scratch.

Maker Shed

The Maker Shed is brought to you by Maker Media, the makers of MAKE Magazine, the Maker Faire, and much more.

Launched originally as a source for back issues of MAKE Magazine, the Maker Shed expanded rapidly to meet the demand for ‘projects in a box,’ otherwise known as kits. Now we have a little bit of everything for makers, crafters, and budding scientists, from Arduinos to sock monkeys to chemistry sets .

if the information contained the physical dimensions of this contraption. I am looking for something w/ 4 independently driven wheels and can carry a load about 7-8 lbs, which is a laptop and some other contraption. From the information provided on the the store page, it is impossible to understand if this is suitable for my purpose.

Is there any more information on the motors or a spec sheet? What is the stall current of the motors?
Are these motors compatible with the Arduino Motor Shield?
