DIY Haunts: Now accepting submissions!

Home

If you’re participating in this year’s Halloween contest, and ready to submit your creation, now’s the time! We’ve created a submission page where you can show us what you’ve made.

If you’ve missed out on the news, DIY Haunts is our contest where you can win fabulous Jameco Electronics and MAKE/Maker Shed prizes by building the coolest and scariest Halloween prop around. Check out the contest landing page for complete rules, an archive of our weekly contest newsletters, as well as links to tons of inspiring, spine-tingling projects.

Speaking of newsletters, #3 went out today. It’s all about the process of carving a styrofoam tombstone using nichrome wire. To get the newsletters (and future contest-related newsletters), you can sign up right here:

And if you can’t think of a project, or are in need of inspiration, we’re building a cool animatronic tombstone project that makes use of an optional Jameco Electronics Parts Kit that contains everything you need to add motion, light, and a microcontroller to your project.

Are you working on an entry for the contest? Leave a comment and share a little about your experience.
