This marquetry skateboard by Artifacture Studios looks cool as heck, and uses 7 different colors of wood veneer — but can it do a grind? Ultimately the deck was sold for $600 with the proceeds going to charity. [Via the Ponoko blog]

    Rad, definitely too nice to ride! I’ve used lasercutting for griptape for a ‘nuts and bolts’ themed skate deck in the past:

      This is one gorgeous deck for sure. Wouldn’t even want to drill holes in it for the trucks though, much less grind. Great idea with the grip tape, Tim!

    I love these art decks but man it would suck if someone was to grind one and rip it to shreds. Probably screw up the grind too, as bits and pieces come off and get caught.
