Clever book-folding sculpture trick

It would appear that Isaac Salazar’s remarkable “origami” book sculptures are made simply by folding each page to the right dimensions. Dog-ears of various sizes will achieve the outer profile of the shape, but I assume internal details require that the pages be cut. See more in Veronica Salazar’s Flickr stream. [via Recyclart]

Not at all. Just interleave the folded pages so some form the external details and some form the internal details. If you look closely at the image, you can see that is, in fact, how it has been done.

      Right! Of course. Thanks!

From what I can tell, he just alternates the pages, focusing on one line at a time.

So when building an =, make the folds for the beginning of the top line, then the bottom line with the next page, then the top again with the next page, and so forth, until you’re done. It can be completed all at once, without any cuts

Hello! This is kind of off topic but I need some guidance
from an established blog. Is it very difficult
to set up your own blog? I’m not very techincal but
I can figure things out pretty fast. I’m thinking about creating my own but
I’m not sure where to start. Do you have any tips or suggestions?
    Thanks

Actually, internal areas are done with folds as well. You just alternate. So one page will be folded for the upper-most segment of the image or letter, the next page will be the next lowest, and continue on alternating until the segments meet again and only requires one segment of folding.

http://www.foldedstories.etsy.com I highly recommend her. Her work is impeccable and costs less than other book folding artists are charging. And yeah, she never cut any of the pages in my book! Everything is folded.
