Ordinarily I want to just do Hackerspace Happenings posts 1X a week, but guess what? After yesterday’s post I got two intriguing late additions in the mail, too tasty to ignore.
Mikey Slkar sent in this one:
Cooking With Microcontrollers
Next Tuesday I will be giving a presentation at the new hacker space in Albuquerque called Quelab. I will be explaining how we have automated our meals using our open source temperature controller (YATC). There will be plenty of kits that we will solder up together after the talk.
The following configurations will be discussed:
- crock pot –> sous vide - hot plate –> temperature controlled cooker - fermentation chamber (bread, yogurt, tempeh) - inexpensive cheese/wine fridge - high efficiency chest freezer to fridge conversion
3ric sent in this note on an intriguing hackerspace garage sale:
Hackerbot Labs of Seattle is having a garage sale! Once you are done down at the ham swap meet, come find some goodies in south seattle!
We are a community of people with a passion for science and a bunch of neato stuff we need to get rid of. Most of this is from abandoned projects, and we’d really like it to find a good home.
When? This Saturday, 03/12/11. We open at noon sharp and go until 6pm.
Where? Hackerbot Labs: 4660 East Marginal Way S. We are right next to Arena Sports on the intersection with South Alaska Street.
