Crafters Come Together for Japan Relief Efforts

handmade_for_japan.jpg
Over the past few days, as more and more terrible news is reported on the current events related to the tsunami and earthquake in Japan, I’ve seen many crafters online asking how they can help. Once again, it’s so wonderful to see the crafting community rally together when help is needed most. Here are a few links from crafters offering auctions and sales dedicated to relief efforts in Japan. This list is by no means complete – just a sample of what’s out there. If you know of any links that should be included, please let us know.

Handmade for Japan Auction: Their logo, used as art above, says it all. Check out this Facebook page for news, updates, and auctions currently taking place.
MochiMochi Land Auction: 100 percent of the proceeds from this auction will be given to the American Red Cross for relief efforts
Praying for Japan: Etsy treasury
W + K Studio Goods: Susan Beal tipped us off this offering. This beautiful print is yours for a donation of your choice ($25, $50 or more).
Oktak: Donating 50 percent of her Etsy sales to relief efforts.
Whimsy and Spice: Buy some of their baked goods and 15 percent of the price will go to relief efforts through March 18.
Heather Ross: She created an online pop-up to donate 25 percent of her art sales today to relief needs. Act fast, many of her prints are selling out.
As I said earlier, this is just a small sample of what’s out there.

From now till March 23, we’ll be donating 100% of proceeds from purchases in the PenguinBot shop to the Red Cross to aid their relief effort in Japan. Also, if you enter the code JAPAN at checkout, you’ll get 20% off. A good deal for a good cause. There are more details here: http://www.penguinbot.com/blog/view/231
