Amazing Junk to Art

Craft & Design Home Workshop

I’ve been to Paris and watched Amelie many times over. But neither of those fabulous experiences made me long to be fluent in French. The Ze Grange blog, however, has me bothering my fluent Frenchie friends, racing for Babelfish translation, and considering signing up for a correspondence course.
What is the owner of the blog saying about these lovely creations? There are robot figurines, lamps, candle holders, art pieces involving little figures made out of nails (and being chased by a hammer). And that’s on just the first 2 pages.
Natalie was kind enough to loosely translate the opening section for me:

He’s a guy who loves taking old things and recycling them. He offers his email if people have ideas or want to make requests.
“Let me explain: if for example you have a craving for specific furniture made with a particular object, a decoration for your home, or want to offer a particular piece of car or lawnmower or tractor to a theme that involves recycling, then I ‘m your man!
Why not imagine the reproduction of your cat using cans, or construction of a garden in containers, or even a clock with your old kitchen can?”

What are all those things he used to make the seahorse with? How does he come up with his ideas? Who commissioned the little spider? What is a kitchen can? I may never know, but at least I can enjoy the amazing photos. Gotta love the global internet!
